Commit to be FIT

What is Crossfit?

What is Beaverton Crossfit?

We have put together a training program that develops capability, competency and dominance outside the gym both in life and sports. Commit to improving your overall fitness and lifestyle by getting into the best shape of your life. Classes will consist of constantly varied functional movement performed at high intensity. The true definition of fitness encompasses all of the following criteria equally: Cardio, Endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Accuracy, Agility and Balance.

Crossfit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police and academies and tactical operations teams, military special operation units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.

Our program delivers a fitness that is by design, broad, general and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and on average, punish the specialist.

The Crossfit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless or experience. We’ve used our same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. We scale load and intensity, we don’t change programs.

The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind. Our military, skiers, mountain bikers and housewives have found their best fitness from the same regimen.

The prescription for success is to attend class five or six days per week. We mix all these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.

What is Your Fitness Level?

That simple question quickly gets complex. Fit for what? How fit is fit enough, and how do you evaluate your fitness? Develop fitness with sport-focused workouts, and test your fitness through competitive sports. It’s rewarding to be good at a competitive sport. But most sport-focused workouts are specialized enough to leave weak areas you may not be aware of. Unexposed weaknesses can lead to performance plateaus and injuries.

The ten generally recognized components of physical fitness are: cardiorespiratory endurance, strength, stamina, flexibility, coordination, agility, balance, accuracy, power and speed. A varied workout program like CrossFit develops all of these components. To maximize vertical growth (development of new strengths and skills), it helps to set goals, measure progress, and aim for balance among the skills.
